Faculty Guide to Linking

The library provides many full-text resources through subscription databases and electronic journal collections. Rather than re-scanning an article, you can provide a link from your Canvas page or other website to materials in these databases.

Many databases provide “stable” or “persistent” links or “digital object identifiers” (DOI) for permanent access to these articles. If there are no stable URLs available, the link you create may not be available after your session.

The library also offers access to many other types of materials including over 70,000 e-books, many library tutorials, and a growing number of LibGuides (software used to create subject and course guides as well as other instructional and training guides).

The instructions for linking to the stable URLs can be found in the Linking to Library/Online Resources in Canvas LibGuide. Hover over the “Linking to Resources in Canvas” tab to see the options of library resources you can link to directly.

Please note:  Instructors need to seek permission on their own from Harvard Business School Publishing before posting articles from or links to the Harvard Business Review in Canvas or any other electronic course content system.  Permissions may include fees.  Email them for rates and permission.
