Apply for Aid

Rivier University has established a priority filing date of March 1. On-time financial aid applicants will be given full consideration for need-based assistance. Late applicants will be considered on a funds-available basis.

Rivier University only requires that students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You must include Rivier University (school code 002586) on your FAFSA application in order for us to receive your application. If you are chosen by the federal government for verification, the Office of Financial Aid will request those documents in writing.

New and Returning Students for 2023-2024

Students applying for financial aid must file a 2023-2024 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You can apply online on or after October 1, 2022. Returning students will be able to renew their FAFSA and update last year’s data. Students should provide the most accurate information available to them.

It is highly recommended that you use the Data Retrieval Tool to “Link to the IRS” in your FAFSA. This will automatically bring in your 2021 tax data directly to your FAFSA. If you cannot use the Data Retrieval Tool, and you are selected for verification of your FAFSA, you may need to request a tax return transcript from the IRS.

It is important that you list our Title IV Code (002586) on the FAFSA/Renewal Form. If Rivier University is not listed, the Department of Education will not send the results of your FAFSA to the University. This form is used to apply for all types of federal, state, and college aid. In order for the Office of Student Financial Services to award financial aid, the student must first be accepted into a degree program at Rivier University.

Please note that you are not required to accept all of the aid that was awarded to you. If you wish to decline or decrease part of your aid, please do so through your Net Partner (student portal) account. If you have difficulties accessing your Net Partner account, please contact our office at (603) 897-8488 or email us for assistance.
