RISE offers a vibrant and collaborative learning environment for older adults who all share a common belief that curiosity never retires. Are you at least 55 years of age and have a love of learning? If so, we invite you to join our community of lifelong learners known as RISE.

Active Participation and Fellowship

The Rivier Institute for Senior Education incorporates active participation and fellowship for older adults both online and on-campus at Rivier University in Nashua. An affiliate of the Road Scholar Institute Network, RISE offers a diverse curriculum with courses in history, literature, writing, music, religion, current events, foreign languages, art, technology. physical fitness, and much more. There are no grades, no tests, and no credit. Our members thrive in an environment with no pressure and lots of encouragement, social interaction, and engagement.

The success of the RISE program is a testament to Dr. Arthur’s vision and leadership, her lifelong love of learning, and her commitment to religion and education. Since its inception in 1996 by Rose H. Arthur, Th.D., the RISE program has grown to more than 400 members and thrives on Rivier University’s campus and online as well, to be a welcoming community of people 55 years of age and over.

Spring 2022 Semester

The Spring 2022 Semester will take place from March 7 – April 8, 2022. 

As our third successful RISE semester on ZOOM winds down, plans are moving forward to add a limited number of courses on campus for the 2022 spring semester. RISE plans to offer the opportunity to take courses in person in addition to online with ZOOM.

Course registration will begin at the end of January, and notification will be sent to all registered members. If you are not a current member, we encourage you to join us!
