As Division III participants in the NCAA and GNAC (Great Northeast Athletic Conference), we go head to head with schools from Connecticut to Maine and have brought home more than 25 championships.
Our volleyball teams are frequently nationally ranked, and our coaches and players have earned countless awards and honors.
Our coaches also create an environment that is competitive and caring, ensuring that students have the resources and support necessary to find a balance between academic and athletic endeavors. River’s coaches and trainers have years of experience helping athletes reach their full potential.
Meet Tom Glynn, Head Coach of Raiders Men's Basketball team. Coach Glynn joined Rivier in spring 2023 and has big plans for upcoming season. “The biggest thing is that our student-athletes should have a top-level experience at Rivier, and we’re going to do that by having fun each day, whether it’s at practice or in a game,” said Glynn. “Having fun translates to victories."

There is nothing like Rivier athletics! As a four-year member of the volleyball team, I was able to make lots of friends, and the family-like atmosphere created a home away from home with a support system that I could lean on.
Ken Whittier, Class of 2019, double-majored in Business Management and Psychology and was Co-Captain of the Men’s Lacrosse Team. In addition to his academic achievements, Raider Athletics provided Ken the opportunity to develop leadership, team and time management skills. “Being accountable to a group of your closest friends forced me to take care of all other aspects of my life, such as work and academics, in order to give it my all on the field.”
