Community Partners
The service learning component of your SL 100 Serving the World class requires 20 hours of community service. A range of community partners give you a choice in how you’ll serve.
Below you will find a list of agencies and volunteer activities available. Most agencies have a student coordinator who works to support student service at the location.
21st Century Community Learning Centers
- Service Opportunity: Work with local children in after-school enrichment programs
- Volunteer Activities: Mentor students, assist with homework, murals, sports, and other enrichment activities
- Location: Various Nashua public schools
- Days and Times: Monday – Friday 3-6 p.m.
Anne Marie House/Family Promise of Southern New Hampshire
- Service Opportunity: Assist families working to overcome homelessness
- Volunteer Activities: Play with children, assist with programs and help to cook

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Nashua
- Service Opportunity: Make a positive difference in the lives of children primarily from single-parent homes
- Volunteer Activities: Provide one-on-one mentoring to youth ages 6-12 in both school and community settings

- Service Opportunity: Create a safe, positive environment and services for local youth
- Volunteer Activities: Provide one-on-one mentoring to youth ages 6-12 in both school and community settings; volunteer at special events, such as holiday parties and fundraisers

Nashua Police Athletic League (PAL)
- Service Opportunity: Help foster positive relationships between youth and the police
- Volunteer Activities: Assist in after-school program with homework help, mentoring youth, program planning, recreational sports and activities, event planning and administrative help

- Days and Times: After-school program runs Monday – Thursday 3-6 p.m. and Friday 3-5 p.m. Opportunities to plan activities and administrative support are available throughout the daytime as well

Marguerite’s Place
- Service Opportunity: Help out at this transitional housing program for women and children in crisis
