DNP Admissions Requirements
Doctor of Nursing Practice candidates are admitted on a rolling basis with semesters starting in the fall, spring, and summer. Rivier offers a streamlined admissions process and no application fee.
Hold both a baccalaureate and a master’s degree from an accredited college or university and have obtained a graduate grade-point average of 3.2 or higher. Candidates with a GPA below 3.2 who meet other criteria may be considered after an interview with nursing faculty.
Have completed a graduate-level statistics course.
Professional Practice Track: Have an active, unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in the state where practicums will be conducted (Rivier will verify on your behalf).
Systems Leadership Track: Have an active, unencumbered registered nurse (RN) license in the state where practicums will be conducted (Rivier will verify on your behalf).
Official transcripts: Provide transcripts from all colleges or universities attended. A transcript is considered “official” if it is sent directly to Rivier from the institution where the credits were earned. Official transcripts can be sent electronically using transcript sending services or by mail.
Since Rivier University’s Master of Science in Nursing program requires this number of hours for graduation and this information is documented, graduates of this program do not need to submit additional proof of these hours.
Submit your application, letters of recommendation, and other required materials through our online application.
