Why Study Liberal Studies at Rivier?

Rivier’s Liberal Studies program offers you the flexibility to tailor your degree to your individual career interests. You will gain insight into a variety of topics along with significant study in a humanities discipline of your choice, from the fields of art history, history, language, literature, philosophy, or religious studies.

As a Liberal Studies major, you can expect to acquire a well-developed capacity for independent thought, the ability to think, write, and speak critically, and an appreciation of the past as a backdrop for understanding contemporary life and society.

For greater flexibility, Rivier offers both an Associate of Arts in Liberal Studies degree and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberals degree. Our liberal arts-centered programs are widely recognized as valuable not only in producing a well-rounded, truly educated person, but also in providing a strong foundation for any number of careers in our rapidly changing world.

The B.A. in Liberal Studies prepares you for a wide range of master’s degree programs, as well. Those students who choose to further their education, either immediately after graduation or years later, will have the strong educational base needed to advance to graduate study.
