Rivier has the largest pre-licensure undergraduate nursing program in New Hampshire and has been a regional leader in nursing education for more than 30 years. Our faculty consists of highly qualified and experienced nurse educators and practitioners who will share their expertise and perspective with you and help you find your niche in nursing. Graduates of Rivier’s BSN program who sat for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) in 2020 had a pass rate of 95% for first-time test takers. The national BSN average pass rate was 86.57%, putting Rivier students well above graduates of other colleges and other universities.
Rivier’s physical assessment and nursing skills simulation laboratories are equipped with a wide array of patient examination equipment, including SIM Man, SIM baby, SIM Kid, and Noelle, the birthing simulator. Labs offer interactive learning systems, and you can gain hands-on experience on campus, as well as in clinical rotations.
In the B.S. in Nursing program, you will:

Licensure and Accreditation
Upon completion of the program, you will be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
Rivier University is unable to accept students from some states due to the post-secondary higher-education requirements. There are also some restrictions for programs that lead to professional licensure due to the various requirements of individual state boards of nursing. See State Guide.

In the summer of her junior year, Rebeca Cruz, Class of 2019, was chosen to participate in a prestigious undergraduate Research Fellowship in Nursing at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. In her senior year, she was selected to do her senior capstone at Boston Children's Hospital where she worked with some of the best doctors and nurses in the world. "When my parents and I toured campus, I felt right at home," says Rebeca. "When I found out there were programs like Project Achieve and scholarships that would allow me to pursue my dream of becoming a nurse, I knew Rivier was the place for me."
