Innovation in the Sciences: Vision 2020

“Altiora et Meliora” Our University’s Latin motto translates to “higher and better.”

Rivier’s Vision 2020 strategy map set a course for an innovative future as the University strives to reach higher and better while providing a distinctive educational experience that uniquely prepares students for career success.

Science and Innovation Center

At the heart of Vision 2020 is a Science and Innovation Center truly worthy of the teaching and learning that takes place inside.

Through a commitment to expanding innovation in the sciences, the University envisioned a new facility that will provide state-of-the-art experiences for biologybiotechnologynursing, and public health majors, while enhancing general education for all Rivier students.

The University will celebrate the Groundbreaking of the Science and Innovation Center on Friday, April 5 at 10 a.m. Join us for this celebratory event.

The Science and Innovation Center will serve as a beacon for the city of Nashua and beyond, providing community resources for the pursuit of scientific discovery. Inclusive of microbiology, biotechnology, anatomy and physiology, genetics, organic and inorganic chemistry, physics, and environmental science, the 30,000 square-foot facility will be situated at the crossroads of South Main and Clement Streets, the most visible and heavily traveled area of campus. The University anticipates breaking ground in 2019 and officially opening the new facility in fall 2020.

Athletics Pavilion and Raider Diamond

Vision 2020 takes into account the education of the whole student with a critical focus on athletics, leadership, and personal development.

The University broke ground on construction of an Athletics Pavilion in October 2018. The new facility and enhancements will turn Raider Field into a stadium, having a transformational impact on the game-day experience for Raider athletes and fans. The Pavilion will provide stadium seating, team rooms, and conference space for pre- and post-game gatherings, a training room, locker rooms, and a press box with an enhanced sound system.

A renovation of the existing softball field, Raider Diamond, will complete the outdoor facilities, adding stadium seating, a press box, team dugouts, and field lighting for nighttime play.

The facilities will support the University’s Raiders athletic program for soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, and softball. With the launch of a new Bachelor of Science in Sport Management degree for the fall of 2019, Rivier students will have enhanced opportunities for hands-on experience supporting internships and leading to employment.
