Why Study Nursing at Rivier?
Rivier’s ASN degree program offers evening classes and evening or weekend clinical rotations, enabling you to work full- or part-time while pursuing your associates in nursing degree. Graduates of the ASN program are well-prepared to function as beginning practitioners in structured health care agencies using established protocols.
Advanced Placement for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)
LPNs are invited to apply for advanced placement in the associate nursing degree program. When accepted and prerequisites are fulfilled, students are exempt from 100-level clinical courses.
Hands-on Learning
Beyond classroom learning, the ASN degree curriculum includes extensive hands-on experience in clinical settings and well-equipped simulation laboratories. Rivier’s physical assessment and nursing skills simulation laboratories are equipped with a wide array of patient examination equipment, including SIM Man, SIM baby, SIM Kid, and Noelle, the birthing simulator.
In this program you will:

Licensure and Accreditation
Upon completion of the program, you will be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) and to assume beginning nursing positions in hospital acute-care facilities, extended-care facilities, and other structured healthcare settings.
Rivier University is unable to accept students from some states due to the post-secondary higher-education requirements. There are also some restrictions for programs that lead to professional licensure due to the various requirements of individual state boards of nursing.See State Guide.
