Rivier University MBA in Healthcare Administration ranked among top five programs nationally

Rivier's online MBA in Healthcare Administration achieves a leadership position among the nearly 8,000 institutions surveyed.

Rivier University’s online MBA in Healthcare Administration earned a ranking in the top five of programs across the country in a national education survey. In its recently released 2020 rankings, EduMed named Rivier’s MBA as one of today’s best programs for online learning in healthcare management.

“It’s an honor to be recognized in this way, especially given the number of institutions evaluated and the ranking criteria,” says Sister Paula Marie Buley, IHM, Rivier’s President. “Our Business and Healthcare faculty are practitioners as well as educators. Their career expertise adds a greater dimension to the knowledge and theories presented in the MBA courses. Our program prepares working professionals to advance in the competitive healthcare industry and to earn top positions at exceptional hospitals and facilities throughout the region.”

EduMed researched more than 7,700 accredited institutions using data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) and from the colleges and universities. Qualifying schools were ranked according to a variety of core metrics. Institutions with the best combination of online learning opportunity, affordability, and student support earned top honors.

Rivier’s 36-credit online MBA in Healthcare Administration provides a dual focus on business management and healthcare administration, enabling professionals to gain experience in healthcare operations, while also developing critical thinking and communication skills and an in-depth understanding of legal and ethical issues impacting the field of healthcare. The program is designed to be completed in two years with multiple 7-week terms offered throughout the year.

“There is a growing demand for knowledgeable and experienced healthcare administrators,” says Dr. Amir Toosi, Rivier’s Dean of Business. “The U.S. Bureau of Labor projects a 17% growth in the employment of medical administrators through 2024. Graduates of our program will be uniquely qualified to lead hospitals and healthcare organizations in a dynamic and constantly evolving environment.”

In addition to accreditation by the New England Commission for Higher Education (NECHE), Rivier’s MBA programs also are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). ACBSP accreditation recognizes teaching excellence, determines student learning outcomes, and focuses on a continuous improvement model.

Rivier also offers an MBA in Management and MBA’s with concentrations in Marketing and Information Technology Management.

The University is accepting applications and the next term starts in September. Candidates can learn more about the MBA in Healthcare Administration and other on-campus and online business programs and apply online at www.rivier.edu or contact the Office of Graduate Admissions at (603) 897-8507.
