Spring 2026 Registration
Students will begin registering for their spring 2026 classes the week of November 10 through our Colleague Self Service page. Registration dates will vary based on a students completed credit count.
Spring 2026 Registration Information
Beginning the week of Monday, Nov. 10, students will have the opportunity to register for Spring 2026 courses. To be eligible, all students must ensure that any holds on their accounts have been cleared and that they have met with either their faculty advisor and/or academic advisor to confirm their degree progress and course selections.
Advising Requirements
First-Year Students
- All first-year students are required to meet with both their academic advisor and faculty advisor prior to registration. A registration hold will remain on the student’s account until this meeting has taken place and a spring course plan has been finalized. Once the advising meeting is complete, the student’s academic advisor will remove the hold, allowing registration to proceed.
Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors
- While meetings with an advisor are not mandatory for upper-level students, it is strongly encouraged that all students meet with their academic or faculty advisor before registering. Doing so ensures that all graduation requirements are being met and provides an opportunity to address any academic concerns or planning questions.
Registration Schedule
Registration will occur throughout the week of Monday, Nov. 10, based on the number of earned credits a student has completed.
- Monday, November 10 at 7:00 a.m. – Students with 90 or more earned credits
- Tuesday, November 11 at 7:00 a.m. – Students with 60 or more earned credits
- Wednesday, November 12 at 7:00 a.m. – Students with 30 or more earned credits
- Thursday, November 13 at 7:00 a.m. – Students with fewer than 30 earned credits
Health Science students with more than 28 earned credits are eligible to register on Wednesday, Nov. 12.

Academic Advising
All students at Rivier are assigned an Academic Advisor and most students are also assigned a Faculty Advisor. Advisors work with the students to ensure that graduation requirements are met, assist students who may be having a difficult time in a class, and help connect students to resources on campus.
At Rivier University, our academic advising model is designed to provide students with comprehensive, personalized support throughout their academic journey. Rivier follows a dual advising model, which pairs each student with both a faculty advisor and an academic advisor who work collaboratively to guide students from their first semester through graduation.
The only exceptions to this model are nursing students and undeclared students.
- Nursing students receive mentorship directly from their clinical instructors, who bring professional expertise and real-world experience into their advising relationships.
- Undeclared students are supported by an academic advisor until they officially declare a major, at which point a faculty advisor from their academic program will be assigned.
This dual advising structure ensures that every student benefits from two key perspectives.
- A faculty advisor within their discipline can offer insight into career paths, industry expectations, and academic opportunities in their field of study.
- An academic advisor who provides broader guidance on course selection, credit requirements, and university policies to keep students on track for timely graduation.
The Office of Academic Advising, conveniently located in the Learning Commons next to Hayward’s Ice Cream, is an active student support office on campus. Our advisors assist students with semester planning, navigating academic challenges, and connecting to campus resources.
Because the Learning Commons houses many student support services, our team can easily connect students to the appropriate offices, often walking them directly to the department that can best meet their needs.
How Academic Advising Supports Students
Academic advisors provide assistance in a wide range of areas, including:
- Changing or declaring a major or minor
- Completing add/drop or course withdrawal forms
- Navigating university policies and procedures
- Achieving academic and career goals
- Evaluating and applying AP, Running Start, and transfer credits
