A.S. in Nursing – LPN to ASN

LPN to ASN Program

Fast track your nursing career.

Rivier’s LPN to ASN program prepares students to become registered nurses. Registered nurses (RNs) provide direct patient care; they educate and provide advice to patients on their health conditions, and offer support and resources to patients and their families.

Graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) and to assume beginning nursing positions in hospital acute-care facilities, extended-care facilities, and other structured healthcare settings.

Program of Study
The LPN to ASN program offers LPNs an accelerated pathway to earning their associate degree through advanced placement in the nursing program.

The ASN program offers evening classes and day or weekend clinical rotations, enabling students to work while pursuing their degrees. Beyond classroom learning, the curriculum includes extensive hands-on experience in clinical settings and Rivier’s well-equipped simulation laboratories.

Advanced Standing Requirements
Applicants may be granted advanced placement into the LPN to ASN Program contingent upon proof of unencumbered LPN licensure, a review of their LPN curriculum, and the successful challenge of NSG 101 Nursing Fundamentals and NSG 102 Care of the Adult 1.

Facilities and Resources
Rivier`s physical assessment and skills simulation labs are equipped with a wide array of examining equipment, including SIM Man, SIM Baby, SIM Kid and Noelle, the birthing simulator. Labs offer interactive learning and practical experience on campus, in addition to clinical rotations.

Rivier faculty are fully credentialed in their areas of specialty. Professors share their expertise and perspectives with students, while helping them find their niches in nursing.

Partnerships with magnet award-winning clinical sites throughout the region provide opportunities to learn about a wide range of specialties, as well as the type of setting that best suits each individual. Rivier students work with currently practicing healthcare professionals at leading hospitals in Concord, Lowell, Worcester, Manchester, Nashua, and other rural and urban settings.
