Doctor of Nursing Practice—Systems Leadership Track (Online)

Advance to the highest level of nursing practice and become a trusted leader with an online Doctor of Nursing Practice—Systems Leadership degree from Rivier University.

Why Earn Your DNP at Rivier?

In Rivier University’s online Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)—Systems Leadership program, you can take your nursing career a step further, improving your future and becoming a trusted leader in a supportive academic community. The program supports clinicians securing leadership roles in healthcare, as well as those who are striving to practice at their highest potential.

The Systems Leadership track prepares nurses for leadership and management roles creating or redesigning systems to meet the demands of the healthcare market. This track offers two entry options: one for Master of Science in Nursing graduates and another to those who have earned a master’s degree in a field outside of nursing and have a BSN.

Regardless of entry point, the DNP—Systems Leadership program is delivered exclusively through Rivier’s interactive online classroom. To serve students of different educational backgrounds, this program does not require a GRE score.

In this program you will:

  • Learn how to lead in the vision, development, implementation, and evaluation of care delivery approaches that ensure ethical stewardship, accountability, quality, and patient safety
  • Integrate new knowledge and technology in advanced practice, administration, and education to improve patient outcomes
  • Develop the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively provide leadership in collaborative efforts among health professionals and with clients and community partners
  • Translate evidence-based research into practice and sustain change at the systems levels

The Systems Leadership Track Provides provides flexible courses and guidance from nursing leaders who hold a variety of doctoral degrees, including research-driven and clinically-focused clinicians who are actively engaged in clinical practice to improve patient outcomes. In addition, this program offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through a required practicum.

Designed for working professionals, this program allows students to pursue their doctorates while continuing in their current positions, affording them the opportunity to apply what they learn as they work through the program.

Upon completion of the program, you’ll be fully prepared to develop your own scientific theories of health, illness, and human behavior and apply them to strategies and interventions. You’ll also be equipped with the professional skills to translate evidence-based research into practice and apply advanced clinical judgment in the design, delivery, and evaluation of care to patients throughout the lifespan.
