Rivier University recognized nationally for academic quality and career preparation
Rivier University has once again been recognized by Colleges of Distinction, earning honors that reflect the University’s commitment to academic quality, student support, and career-focused undergraduate education.
The recognition, awarded ahead of the 2026-2027 academic year, highlights institutions that provide meaningful learning experiences and prepare students for success beyond the classroom. Rivier was honored for its student-centered approach, which combines strong academic programs, personalized support, faculty mentorship, and opportunities for hands-on learning.
“Our focus is on preparing students for success beyond graduation through a strong foundation in academics and real-world experience,” says Sister Paula Marie Buley, IHM, President. “This recognition from Colleges of Distinction affirms our mission and reflects the dedication of our faculty and staff to excellence in teaching, career preparation, and the development of every student.”
Rivier earned distinctions in several areas, including Business, Education, Nursing, Career Development, international student support, Catholic higher education, and recognition as a New Hampshire College of Distinction. Together, these honors speak to the strength of Rivier’s academic programs and the University’s continued focus on helping students grow personally, academically, and professionally.
The Career Development distinction recognizes Rivier’s efforts to prepare students for life after college through dual advising, networking and internship opportunities, résumé support, and other career-focused services. Rivier was also recognized for its support of international students, underscoring the University’s commitment to fostering a welcoming and supportive campus community.
Rivier is the only college or university in New Hampshire to receive the Career Development, International Student Support, and Catholic distinctions.
“Today’s students are navigating a college landscape shaped by rising costs, rapid technological change, and real uncertainty about the future of work,” says Tyson Schritter, Chief Operating Officer at Colleges of Distinction. “What they need from higher education isn’t just a credential, but preparation for the world ahead. Rivier delivers that through the kind of intentional, high-impact education that equips students for whatever comes next.”
