Alumni on the Front Lines | Richard Boardman

Richard Boardman ‘07G, Principal at Mount Pleasant Elementary School in Nashua, is leading his team remotely during this challenging time for our community.

For Richard Boardman and his leadership team at Mount Pleasant Elementary School, supporting students remains the top priority but through remote learning their work extends even further. “Just as we aim to support the whole child during a typical school day, we are now working harder than ever to support the whole family,” Richard said. “By collaborating with our staff and families, we are providing not only educational material but more importantly social/emotional support and basic necessities that families need.”

Richard and his team have been finding creative ways to stay connected with their students, such as creating YouTube videos of themselves reading and sharing the videos online with students. Providing lunches to families in need is another way the staff at Mount Pleasant have stayed connected with families. “We are doing this all while reminding our entire community that we are in this together and reminding us all to stay strong, stay brave, and stay beautiful.” To Richard and the many educators who are working to keep our students and families connected and safe, we thank you for the important work you do every day!
