Cyrus Karimy
Background
Professor Kourosh (Cyrus) Karimy teaches general biology, physics, biotechnology, and environmental science courses. As a student, he benefited from faculty who invested in his success, and he now works to give back to the next generation through teaching, advising, and academic mentorship.
His passion for science comes from a desire to make the world better for all who inhabit it, which is an interest that led him to biomedical engineering and to work spanning biomaterials, biomechanics, tissue engineering, and diagnostics.
Professor Karimy has taught and mentored students at UMass Amherst, Tufts University, and Northeastern University. His industry background includes roles at Sunbird Bio and Advanced Materials Processing, along with collaborative projects with ThermoFisher Scientific, MilliporeSigma, and the Good Food Institute.
He is committed to bringing industry perspective into the classroom, helping Rivier University students build the skills and experience that open doors to Biotechnology.
