Rivier University is hosting the Nashua Sport Management Summit, in partnership with the Nashua Silver Knights, on Friday, February 23, 2024.

The summit is open to all high school and college students interested in pursuing a career in the sports industry.

Aspiring sport management professionals will have the opportunity to learn from and build relationships with industry leaders. Following the keynote address, attendees will join panelist sessions that cover a variety of topics, including partnerships, business intelligence and analytics, recruiting, sales and service, event management, and communications.

“The partnership between Rivier University and the Nashua Silver Knights fosters educational and community engagement through sports,” said Dr. Amir Toosi, Dean of Business and Security Studies. “The upcoming summit aims to connect students and professionals in the sport management field. We’re thrilled to host experts and industry leaders for networking and recruitment opportunities.”

Students will also be able to network with top executives and hiring managers from organizations across New England at the Career and Networking Fair, including representatives from the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, New England Patriots and the Boston Celtics. Other companies such as the New England Sports Network (NESN), BSN Sports, and The Kraft Group will also attend, providing a wide range of career opportunities for students to explore.

Students enrolled in the B.S. in Sport Management degree program at Rivier are invited to attend the summit along with high school and college students from across New England. Additionally, sport management students from Rivier are assisting with the execution of the event, gaining hands-on experience in a variety of marketing, event coordination and facilities operations roles.

“The mission of the Nashua Sport Management Summit is to create an experiential learning opportunity for the next generation of sport industry leaders,” said Josie Schmidt, the Director of Sales and Operations for the Nashua Silver Knights. “We are grateful for the partnership with Rivier University, as together, we are making a positive impact on students and professionals alike.”
