Melinda Luther

Dr. Melinda Luther has been a registered nurse for more than thirty-five years. Her initial nursing career focused on children and families, with her working as a nurse practitioner for fifteen years. She is especially interested in nursing informatics, research related to educational effectiveness, how technology can improve the quality of patient care, and how to maximize technological interventions in an educational setting.

Dr. Luther has taught in both pre-licensure undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. She has experience in curriculum development, classroom teaching, online instruction, clinical instruction, and simulation. She has worked on accreditation report preparation, served as a consultant and site visitor, and has experience as a program manager, department chair, and Associate Dean.

Dr. Luther was selected as a Jonas Nurse Leader scholar, serves as an ACEN team chair peer evaluator and is a member of the Evaluation Review Panel. She also chaired the Rivier Institutional Review Board and served as the Vice President of Rivier’s local chapter of Sigma, the honor society of nursing.
