The Art Gallery at Rivier Presents “Sifting for Gold: Paintings by Dominique Boutaud”
A native of France and currently living in New Hampshire, Dominique Boutaud is an internationally acclaimed abstract painter and the featured artist at The Art Gallery at Rivier University through March 1.
Boutaud’s works have been exhibited in Europe, Asia, and the United States, and she is the recipient of several prestigious awards including a Peace Trophy from Italy and a Gold Canvas Award from France.
In addition to her building her body of work, Boutaud shares her gift with people struggling with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers. She is a certified dementia Opening Minds through Art facilitator and founder of Healing in Color LLC, through which she provides creative art therapy. Her work is the direct outpouring of a vibrant personality, a love for life, and a spirit of hopefulness amidst life’s challenges.
“This exhibition is an opulent demonstration of Dominique Boutaud’s exploratory approach to the fluidity, density, and color intensity of oil paint; its tendency to blend and retract; its transparency, opacity, and reflectivity; its amenability to bold application,” says Sister Theresa Couture, Director of the Art Gallery at Rivier University. “The result is an impression of energy and an illusion of movement balanced by a sense of tranquility, equilibrium, and mindful grace.”
The exhibition “Sifting for Gold: Paintings by Dominique Boutaud” is on view through March 1; it is free and open to the public. The Art Gallery is located on the second floor of Memorial Hall on the Rivier University campus at 420 South Main Street in Nashua. Regular open hours are listed below. The Art Gallery is accessible by elevator and six low steps.
