Vision 2020 Projects
Our Vision 2020 projects will have a transformational impact on the University and the community for decades to come.
Innovation in the Sciences
At the heart of Vision 2020 is a Science and Innovation Center truly worthy of the teaching and learning that takes place inside. With the opening of the new 36,000 square-foot facility in September 2020, the University enters a new era of innovation in the science.
Watch the video to learn how we put science on display with learning spaces that foster innovation and discovery, laboratories and equipment designed to solve real-world problems, technology that brings the world of science into the classroom, and collaborative spaces for faculty and student research!
Transforming the Game-Day Experience
Linda Robinson Pavilion
The construction of an Athletics Pavilion has turned the University’s athletics field into a stadium and transformed the game-day experience for Raider athletes and fans. The Pavilion provides stadium seating, team rooms, and conference space for pre-and post-game gatherings, a training room, lockers rooms, and a press box with an enhanced sound system.
The Naming of Joanne Merrill Field
The University’s Board of Trustees passed a resolution to name Raider Field the Joanne Merrill Field, honoring the 40 year career of the University’s Director of Athletics. The distinction recognizes Merrill for creating an athletic environment of integrity, service, and leadership for both coaches and student-athletes, while also contributing to the University, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).
The renovation of the existing softball field completes the outdoor facilities, adding stadium seating, a press box, team dugouts, and field lighting for nighttime play.
