Financial Aid Application Deadlines

2019-2020 Academic Year

Priority Filing Date for day students: March 1, 2019

Students who wish to be considered for financial aid for the 2019-2020 academic year should file as close as possible to the March 1, 2019 priority filing date. As a result of limited student financial aid resources, Rivier must establish priority deadlines for financial aid applications. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that the FAFSA is filed by the priority deadline. On-time financial aid applicants are given full consideration for assistance. Availability of funds cannot be guaranteed for late applicants; therefore, late applicants will be considered on a funds-available basis. Students may file their FAFSA at

In order to award federal funding for a student, the Office of Financial Aid must have a valid Student Aid Report (results from the FAFSA). The deadlines for filing a FAFSA and provide any additional documentation/information that the Office requests are as follows:

For Fall-only 2019 aid-eligible students – October 17, 2019

For Fall/Spring 2019-20 or Spring-only 2020 aid-eligible students – March 13, 2020

For Summer-only aid-eligible 2019 students – June 5, 2019

PLEASE NOTE: Aid-eligible students are those who are enrolled at least half-time (there are some exceptions).  Furnishing required documents by these deadline dates does not guarantee awarding of Rivier need-based funding (Rivier Grant) for day students. As this is a limited pool of funding, students are strongly encouraged to provide the necessary documents well before these deadlines. If you have any questions, please contact the Student Financial Services Office at 603-897-8488 or email us at SFS.

Effective summer 2019, we are now awarding summer 2019, fall 2019 and spring 2020 as the award year for 2019-20.   (This change will not affect you if you do not plan to enroll in summer classes.  You will be awarded for fall and spring only).  Your annual financial aid award will be equally distributed over three semesters.

This means, if you wish to be considered for federal aid for summer 2019, you should file your 2019-20 Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA) here –  In order to be eligible for federal loans, you need to be enrolled at least as a half-time student – go here for more information –
