Password Protect a Document

To make sure no one tampers with your document, use the password protect feature.

Open the document
Click the File tab / Info
Click Protect Document Icon

There are several options.

If you want to password protect your document, Click Encrypt with Password
To save the password protect feature, save the file.

Notice the warning: if you lose or forger the password ...
IT cannot help you retrieve the document once it is password protected.

Restrict Editing ... select to restriction certain sections on your document: filling in a form, etc.

Restrict Permission by People ... select Restricted Access
