The Rivier Institute for Senior Education (RISE) spring information session is scheduled for Friday, January 13 from 1 - 3 p.m. in the Dion Center Reception Room located at Rivier University in Nashua, N.H.
Two five-week terms are offered. Term One begins January 30 and ends March 3; Term Two begins March 13 and ends on April 21. No learning prerequisites or tests are required. Membership for the ten weeks of courses is $130 and includes access to computer labs, Muldoon Health and Fitness Center, Regina Library, and Dion Dining Center.
Seniors may select up to five courses each term, with over 60 courses from which to choose. Course topics include literature and writing, history, genealogy, music and dance, opera, film, digital photography, computer and iPad skills, religion, philosophy and spiritual enrichment, world cultures, current events, and crafts. Courses are not credit bearing. Also included in the fee are choices of moderate exercise and water exercise courses.
The RISE program, tailored for “learning in retirement,” is in its twentieth year. Individuals over age 55 are welcome to learn more about RISE, preview courses and register with a check for the spring information session.
