{"id":275,"date":"2019-06-19T11:09:50","date_gmt":"2019-06-19T15:09:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rivier.edu\/financial-aid\/types-of-aid\/student-employment\/"},"modified":"2026-04-08T10:53:35","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T14:53:35","slug":"student-employment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.rivier.edu\/financial-aid\/types-of-aid\/student-employment\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Employment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To qualify for student employment, students must be a minimum of half-time status, maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0, and be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible non-citizen.<\/p>\n<p>Students earn minimum wage at $9.00\/hour. Hours worked = hours paid. There is no compensation for sick, vacation, or snow days. Students can either receive a bi-weekly paycheck or request Direct Deposit.<\/p>\n<h2>New Student Information<\/h2>\n<p><span>Campus jobs are posted after July 1. It is the responsibility of the student to find a position. Please contact supervisors directly for their application requirements and availability.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Students working for the first time must complete forms I-9 and W-4 with the Office of Human Resources once they have been verbally offered a position. Form I-9 requires you to provide documentation to verify your identification. These documents need to be originals and cannot be expired. From the list of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rivier.edu\/financial-aid\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2019\/06\/Acceptable-I9-Documents.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">acceptable I-9 documents<\/a>, you must present one from List A or one from List B, and one from List C.<\/p>\n<p><span>Students cannot begin working on campus until their paperwork is completed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Students must review and sign the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rivier.edu\/financial-aid\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2019\/06\/Student-Employee-Handbook.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Student Employee Handbook<\/a> and Sexual Harassment Policy.<\/p>\n<h2>Work-Study Positions<\/h2>\n<p><span>If you are interested in applying for work-study positions, check out\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/rivier.joinhandshake.com\/login\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Handshake<\/a><span>\u00a0for available job listings.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Student Employment Payroll<\/h2>\n<p><em>Please note: Your check may be picked up at the mailroom in Memorial Hall on pay dates. Refer any questions to the Payroll Office in Molloy Hall between 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday \u2013 Friday.<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Request direct deposit by completing a Direct Deposit Form through NeoEd. Please allow two weeks for processing.<\/li>\n<li>As of Dec. 24, 2023, the Office of Human Resources has moved into a new ERP system, <a href=\"https:\/\/rivu-ss.colleague.elluciancloud.com\/\">Ellucian Colleague<\/a>. Any staff requiring additional training and\/or assistance with punching in or out the new Colleague payroll system, please email the Office of Human Resources at <a href=\"mailto:hr@rivier.edu\">hr@rivier.edu<\/a>. Any log-in issues should be directed to the Office of Information Technology at <a href=\"mailto:itsupport@rivier.edu\">itsupport@rivier.edu<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Time Sheet Requirements<\/h3>\n<p>Each time sheet should be completed through Colleague Self Service. Here is a helpful guide on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rivier.edu\/financial-aid\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2024\/04\/Inputting-Time-Worked-in-Self-Service.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">how to input time worked<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The following information on the time card should be true and accurate:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hours indicated should be actual start and finish times<\/li>\n<li>Each five-hour shift worked should have a 30-minute rest break<\/li>\n<li>Student\u2019s approval<\/li>\n<li>Supervisor\u2019s approval<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Time sheets are due by 9 a.m. on Mondays by student workers and submitted through <a href=\"https:\/\/rivu-ss.colleague.elluciancloud.com\/\">Colleague Self Service<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Rivier University reserves the right to make reasonable adjustments in the payroll schedule due to unforeseen circumstances.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To qualify for student employment, students must be a minimum of half-time status, maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0, and be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible non-citizen.
