Academic Philosophy

“My role as a nurse educator is to stimulate the desire to learn and question in a trusting environment. First, I want students to learn how to think critically and prioritize what is important. Second, to value their education and the importance of lifelong learning. Third, to understand the importance of using nursing knowledge to promote health in a global community. I will encourage students to become part of a changing world involving innovative ideas, practices, and technology. To accomplish this I will present multiple methods of instruction to assist the learner in the clinical and classroom areas to address various learning styles. I will encourage questions and feedback consistently.”
