Rivier University seeks a full-time, non-exempt Housekeeper to clean and perform routine maintenance of campus buildings, including residence halls, classrooms, and administrative offices; to coordinate/carry out a specialized custodial/maintenance function; to provide support services for the University priorities.
The Housekeeper is required to perform floor care, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, waxing, buffing, and shampooing carpets. The candidate will collect and empty trash and recycling receptacles in specific areas, pick up litter in and around buildings. The Housekeeper clean, sanitize and stock bathrooms, change and clean shower curtains as needed. The applicant will create and complete electronic work requests in the University’s computerized maintenance management system. The candidate will support events on campus by moving furniture, assisting with event setup/breakdown, dorm & linen management, assessing rooms for cleanliness, etc.
A high school education desirable and general knowledge and skills related to institutional housekeeping work, with some relevant commercial/institutional cleaning experience. The applicant must possess the ability to perform tasks in specific sequences. Candidates will be required to possess the physical ability to do heavy custodial work and operate cleaning equipment. Ability to understand and follow written instructions, chemical labels and warnings. The candidate must possess a valid driver’s license; including an acceptable driving record to operate university vehicles.
