Housekeeper/Custodian (3rd Shift)
To clean and perform routine maintenance of campus buildings, including residence halls, classrooms, and administrative offices; to coordinate/carry out specialized custodial/maintenance functions.
3rd Shift Hours: 10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. (Sunday – Thursday)
- Clean floors: vacuum, sweep, dust mop, wash, strip, wax, and buff. Shampoo carpets.
- Wash windows, walls, chalkboards, trash cans.
- Dust furniture, fixtures, woodwork.
- Collect and empty trash receptacles and pick up litter in and around buildings.
- Clean, sanitize and stock bathrooms; change and clean shower curtains
- Coordinate and carry out specialized custodial/maintenance functions, such as strip and refinish floors, replace light bulbs, move furniture and complete athletic facility maintenance.
High school education required.
Physical ability to perform heavy custodial work and operate cleaning equipment.
Ability to move or lift up to 50 lbs on occasion.
Ability to understand and follow written instructions, chemical labels, and warnings and the ability to perform tasks in specific sequences.
Ability to work cooperatively with other employees and to deal courteously with students, faculty, and staff.

General knowledge and skills related to institutional housekeeping and maintenance work, with some relevant commercial/institutional cleaning experience.
