CASA/GAL
CASA of NH

Posted:  Ongoing

Ben* was removed from his home and placed in foster care in 2008. Through three years of confusion and court hearings, his CASA/GAL volunteer Louise was by his side. Ben said Louise was the one person who stayed the same throughout the whole case.
Ben was adopted by his foster mother this spring. Family and friends packed the court room to watch. Taken moments after the adoption was final, this picture shows him literally jumping for joy over his permanent home!
You can help a child like Ben by becoming a CASA/GAL. CASA/GAL volunteers advocate for abused and neglected children in court.

As a volunteer you...

- visit the child once a month
- talk with parents, doctors and teachers to gather information
- use your professional skills in a challenging environment
- become a source of stability and hope in a child's life

All volunteers go through a rigorous interview process and receive 40 hours of initial training. Volunteers are expected to stay with a case until it's closed.
