After graduating from Boston College with a BA, I joined the Jesuit Volunteer Corps and moved to Yakima, WA. I developed and ran an after school program for migrant farm families. I then moved to San Francisco, CA and completed all of my nursing prerequisites while working in an area hospital as a physical therapy aide. My journey then took me to New York City to Columbia University for my nursing education. I worked in emergency medicine as an RN while staying on in school to complete my MS degree. After graduate school, I worked in an all-endocrine practice in an area hospital before moving to the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center at Columbia University. Following the birth of my second child, I moved to New Hampshire and have been working in family practice in Peterborough, NH. I joined Rivier in the fall of 2011.

Academic Philosophy

“I believe the adult learner is motivated to move her knowledge and skill to a new level. As an instructor, I believe my role is to mentor and guide a student through their learning experience to ensure they are seeking out and comprehending a comprehensive field of knowledge to achieve excellence. By maintaining high standards and expectations across the curriculum, and helping students to achieve these goals, Rivier will engender the leaders in nursing for years to come”.
