Prepare to be a leader in the community.
Every organization and community benefits from effective leadership. Through a broad-based series of courses, Education and Community Leadership students gain a greater understanding of how organizations sustain themselves through effective leadership, sound financial management, effective hiring and staff evaluation practices, a constant focus on mission, and the flexibility to adapt to changing market forces.
Rivier’s core curriculum “Journeys of Transformation” provides a strong foundation for this major with experiences in service learning, servant leadership, civic engagement, and community service. Rivier’s focus on global engagement affords students occasions to interact with many people of different backgrounds and diverse cultures—excellent preparation for leading organizations and community groups.
The program culminates with a capstone/internship experience, presenting opportunities for real-world experience, resume building, and developing a professional network prior to graduation.
