Rivier offers early childhood education programs for both current and prospective teachers. You'll learn proven teaching strategies and strengthen your mastery of academic content working with professors who are widely recognized regionally and nationally as experts in their fields. Rivier is recognized as a statewide leader in preparing teachers to integrate technology into their classrooms. You'll become a well-rounded teacher, prepared to work effectively with students, parents, and your colleagues to help children get the best education possible.

Facilities and resources

Rivier's Education Center is one of the finest facilities of its kind in northern New England. The Education Center houses the Early Childhood Center, an NAEYC-accredited laboratory school for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, as well as the Cho Educational Resource Center, an extensive K-12 curriculum library. The ERC includes recently published textbooks, educational software, a parenting resource center, a children's literature collection, videos and more. Rivier has become a statewide leader in preparing teachers to incorporate technology into their classrooms.

Partnerships and careers

With a Rivier education degree, you will be eligible for certification in 40 states plus the District of Columbia, the Virgin Islands, and the U.S. Department of Defense Dependents Schools around the world.

Prospective teachers spend time in the classroom from the start, working with master teachers long before student teaching. You'll meet people who will serve as mentors throughout your career.

You'll find Rivier graduates teaching in schools and early childhood centers across the country and around the world. They work in public and private schools and in rural, urban, and suburban settings—they thrive in any environment you could imagine.
