In the event of inclement weather, it may be necessary to close part or all of the University, for part or all of the day, including scheduled classes, offices, labs and nurses’ clinicals. In all cases, safety is of the utmost importance. When the University is closed due to inclement weather, only essential personnel from Public Safety and the Facilities Department should be working on campus.
Classes and Offices
Delayed openings and college closing announcements are generally made by 6 a.m. Announcements are made on area television and radio stations, Rivier’s website, and main phone line.
Evening class cancellation announcements are generally made by 2 p.m. Announcements are made on area television and radio stations and Rivier’s website.
Early release announcements are communicated through Rivier’s website and to faculty and staff via email.
Functions and Programs
Cancellation of functions and programs is at the discretion of the Rivier University sponsor (for internal events) or Rivier University contact (Rivier employee who signed the contract with the external party).
Delays and cancellations will be communicated via Rivier’s home page and main telephone number (603) 888-1311 (then press 7).
