B.S. in Biotechnology

Innovate to elevate the quality of human life.

Through the use of biological processes, organisms, or systems, biotechnology creates and produces products and solutions intended to improve the quality of human life.

Rivier’s Biotechnology program takes a holistic approach to education—students acquire strong foundational knowledge, practical skills, and gain additional experience in business and innovation. A foundation of knowledge is built through rigorous coursework and hands-on laboratory training in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, and physics. Practical skills are developed through job shadowing and internship experiences, which begin in a student’s first year of study.

Local and global business teaching trips offer students exposure to biotechnology firms and innovations. Established partnerships with universities outside of the U.S. provide opportunities for participation in an international dialogue and for insight to advances being made around the world.

Program graduates will be workforce ready and well-positioned for success in the competitive global job market and for graduate study at the master’s and doctoral levels. Research and professional positions in the pharmaceutical, medical, and agricultural industries offer many career opportunities.

Rivier University is a College of Distinction.
