History majors learning spans the globe by studying U.S. history, European history, and global history. Students develop a sophisticated understanding of contemporary world problems and their historical roots.

The Bachelor of Arts in History program helps student acquire the reading, research, and writing skills, as well as the work habits, necessary to succeed in any profession that requires deeper reflection, analytical problem solving, and clarity of expression.

Elective courses allow students to focus on their particular areas of interest. Students apply classroom learning in the field with a required internship or capstone seminar, building their resumes and professional networks ahead of graduation.

Graduates are well-prepared for graduate study; they can pursue master’s degrees in history, historic preservation, or education, or go on to attend law school.
