Health & Safety
The U.S. State Department website provides extensive information for people living abroad as well as Travel Warning. We strongly encourage students and parents to consult the State Department Travel Warnings.
The State Department’s Office of American Citizens Services and Crisis Management (ACS) administer the Consular Information Program, which informs the public of conditions abroad that may affect their safety and security. Country-specific information, travel alerts, and travel warnings are vital parts of this program.
Your health is as important as your safety, inquire information on vaccinations and medications that you need before you depart. Connect with your primary care doctors for advice and check the Centers for Disease Control Travel website for information.
For basic travel information about most countries, visit the Lonely Planet’s website. This website is geared more for tourists than students but you will certainly be able to get an idea about the host country you are going to.
