Students who graduate from the online B.S. Business Administration with a 3.0 cumulative GPA may seamlessly continue into a River MBA program that can be completed in as little as one additional year. (This 4+1 option does not apply to the MBA in Healthcare Administration program.) The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program is offered both online and on campus. The one-year MBA provides advanced knowledge in financial management and addresses marketing and new product development, project management, economic analysis, strategies for innovation, and more.
To be eligible for the 4+1 program, you must:
- Complete your Bachelor of Science degree prior to entering your fifth year
- Earn a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 before your senior year
- Submit all required application materials to the Office of Graduate and Professional Studies Admissions
Program of Study
The bachelor’s degree requires a minimum of 120 credits and the MBA requires 30 credits. The MBA includes five core business classes, three electives, and two internships for which you receive course credit.

Rivier’s traditional MBA degree is a 36-credit program. However, if you enroll within one year after completing a Business degree, you will be considered for the 30-credit MBA program.
