FAQ's

UNDERGRADUATE FAQ’s:

  • Do I have to attend the Baccalaureate Mass and Hooding? This event is another celebration of your accomplishments, yet it is not mandatory.
  • When will honors students receive their cords? Students who have earned a 3.5 CUM GPA will receive Honors cords and certificates.   September and January graduates will receive them in the mail and are responsible to bring their cord to the Hooding ceremony and/or Graduation if they wish to wear it.  Cords and certificates for May graduates can be picked up the week of graduation (May 1 – 5) from Kathy Morrissey in Adrienne Hall, Room 204. 

  • Do I have to attend the Hooding ceremony to receive my Honors cord? September and January graduates will receive them in the mail and are responsible to bring their cord to the Hooding ceremony and/or Graduation if they wish to wear it.  Cords and certificates for May graduates can be picked up the week of graduation (May 1 – 5) from Kathy Morrissey in Adrienne Hall, Room 204.
  • What time should my guests arrive? Guests are welcome to be seated in the Church any time after 5:15 pm and should arrive at least before the Baccalaureate Mass begins at 6 pm. 
  • May I bring more than 4 guests? If you require more than four guests for Hooding, please contact Kathy Morrissey at Kamorrissey@rivier.edu to see if space allows any extras.
  • Do we need tickets for the Baccalaureate Mass and Hooding? Tickets are not necessary for this ceremony.


GRADUATE FAQ’s:

  • Do I have to attend hooding? This event is another celebration of your accomplishments, yet it is not mandatory.
  • Do Graduate students receive honors cords? No cords are not distributed to Graduate honors students.
  • What time should my guests arrive? Guests are welcome to be seated in the Church any time after 6:15 pm and should arrive at least before ceremony begins at 7 pm. 
  • May I bring more than 4 guests? If you require more than four guests for Hooding, please contact Kathy Morrissey at Kamorrissey@rivier.edu to see if space allows any extras.
  • Do we need tickets for the Graduate Hooding? Tickets are not necessary for this ceremony.
