Multi-Age Group

Our Multi-Age Program tends to the care and development of children three-to-five years old. Engaging hands-on and classroom activities are supplemented by technology through music, instructional videos, and applications.

Our Multi-Age Program consists of the Aquarius and Draco Dragon classrooms, both of which provide children with a safe, nurturing, child-centered space. Engaging activities and learning experiences prepare young learners for increased independence in preparation for school. Two-, three-, and five-day schedules are offered to accommodate parents’ schedules. Childcare is available from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The Benefits of a Multi-Age Group

Research indicates many advantages for young children when they are grouped across grade levels, including helping to develop students’ social, emotional, and verbal skills, building self-esteem, and enabling students to learn at their own pace.

Most of the benefits of multi-age grouping at the preschool level occur when children have ample opportunities to play together in a safe environment, and to create projects and complete tasks with partners or small groups.

In a multi-age group, older students have an opportunity to mentor younger students in the classroom, modeling appropriate behaviors and assisting with educational tasks. Younger children aspire to do work like the older children in the class.

Creative Learning Experiences

In addition to an engaging classroom, children also enjoy playtime and exploration in the Rotunda, the heart of the Center; on a large outdoor playground; and in our Enchanted Forest, an outdoor classroom that allows children to develop an appreciation of nature. Along with the physical benefits of outdoor play, the children have the opportunity to engage in social interactions with peers. Enrichment programs focus on storytelling, music, art, and more.

Family Communication

Teachers keep in contact with families through Daily Connect, an application that enables two-way communication between parents and staff throughout the day via computer, tablet, or smartphone. Each classroom features a family bulletin board with information on classroom and Center events, and a monthly newsletter describing each month’s learning goals, activities, and a list of books and songs that will be introduced to the children. Additionally, parents regularly receive information and updates via email.
