Public Safety and Security

The safety of students, faculty, and staff is among our highest priorities. You’ll find our campus to be clean, safe, and pleasant year round. Our public safety personnel are friendly, approachable, and diligent in protecting our biggest asset—the Rivier community at large.

Our Department of Public Safety and Security provides you with everything you need to live, work, and study at Rivier. Personnel can be found regularly conducting foot, bicycle, and vehicle patrols of the main campus and throughout University property. You’ll find our officers visible and reachable 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on a year-round basis.

One Team, Here for You

Services provided by Public Safety include assistance with room lockouts, lost property, incident reporting, medical assistance, motor vehicle assistance, escort service, and campus security and crime prevention.

As a member of the Rivier community, you will find a welcoming team of Public Safety personnel who work hard to get to know you and are ready to help you any time of the day. Department personnel have a range of education, training, and experience in law enforcement. All are dedicated to maintaining the campus as a safe and pleasant place for you to live and learn.

Jeanne Clery Act

The Jeanne Clery Act is a consumer protection law designed to improve campus safety and transparency around campus crime policy and statistics. The Clery Act requires institutions to document reported crimes and to publish an Annual Security Report. Reports must include information on the types of crimes, where and when they were committed, and to whom they were reported. The reports must also be available to the general public.

Emergency Notification System
