How do I access the Rivier databases?

From the blue menu on the left side the library home page:

  • Click on Research Databases/Journals.
  • Click on the database name. 
  • From on campus, you will go directly to the selected database. 
  • From off campus, you will be prompted for your ID number (on your Rivier ID card). Please enter the number and the library server will authenticate you.

How do I access databases in the library or at the computer labs on campus?

Log onto any campus computer using your Rivier email account login.

How do I get a Rivier University email account?

You are eligible for a Rivier University email account if you are currently enrolled at Rivier University or if you are an employee of the University.

Go to The Office of Information Technology in Sylvia Trottier Hall, contact IT by telephone at (603-897-8469), or fill out their online request form.

What do I do if I can't get into a database?

Try again.  Be sure that you type your ID number correctly. If you are unsuccessful a second time, call the reference desk 603-897-8356 during library hours of operation

If the reference desk can not be reached, send an email to the library.  If you can not access the university website, call IT support at 603-897-8469.

What do I do if I can't print on campus?

Currently enrolled students with a Rivier email account can print using campus computers and library laptops. Ask at the reference desk for printed directions on how to add a printer to your account.

Printing is monitored by the Office of Information Technology. If you use up your allotment of free printing, you can add additional funds to the printing portion of your RivCard at: 

How do I contact the Reference Librarian?

Call the reference desk at 603-897-8256 during library hours of operation, chat with a librarian, send a text message to a librarian at 978-238-TEXT (8398) or email a librarian 

What access do alumni have to the library databases?

Alumni are welcome to access electronic databases at the library. A librarian will log alumni on to a non-printing account.  Alumni home access to databases is unavailable due to vendor licensing agreements.
