Alumni Library Use Policy

  • Alumni need to present an alumni ID card, issued by the Student Development Office.  Other means of verification are personal identification along with name presence in the Alumni Directory or listed as alumni in the library circulation system.
  • Alumni may borrow up to 10 books and 5 videos from Rivier University libraries. Tests are excluded from borrowing.
  • Books circulate for 30 days with up to 2 renewals. Books that have a "Hold" status may not be renewed. Videos circulate for one week, with no renewals.
  • The following services are not available to alumni borrowers:  Interlibrary loan, test borrowing, media borrowing, placing a hold on library materials.
  • Overdue fines and replacement costs are the responsibility of the borrower.
  • Alumni are able to utilize the Rivier University databases from ON-CAMPUS only. Off-campus use is restricted to current students, faculty, staff, and Sisters due to licensing agreements.

NHCUC Library Use Policy

Rivier University is a member of NHCUC (New Hampshire College and University Council). Currently enrolled NHCUC students and faculty have limited borrowing privileges at the Regina Library and Cho Educational Resource Center. NHCUC institutions include:

Chester College of New England; Colby-Sawyer College; Daniel Webster College; Dartmouth College; Franklin Pierce University; Granite State College; Keene State College; Mass. College of Pharmacy-Manchester; New England College; New Hampshire Institute of Art; New Hampshire Community Technical Colleges; Plymouth State University; Southern New Hampshire University; Saint Anselm College; University of New Hampshire.

Borrowing Information for Rivier Students and Faculty visiting a NHCUC library:

  • Before visiting a NHCUC library, Rivier students and faculty are encouraged to call ahead to determine borrowing policies and hours of operation. Some libraries may not extend borrowing privileges.
  • NHCUC policies require that you present your validated, bar-coded Rivier University I.D. when borrowing material.
  • Loan and fine policies of the lending libraries apply. Overdue fines are paid directly to the lending library.
  • Books borrowed from the NHCUC consortium can be returned to Regina Library. Please plan ahead so your books are returned to the lending library on time.

Information for NHCUC Students and Faculty Borrowing from Rivier:

  • NHCUC policies require that you present a current bar-coded University I.D. when borrowing material.

RISE Library Use Policy

Borrowing

Currently enrolled RISE students use their Rivier ID card as their Library card.

Loans

Books circulate for 30 days with a maximum of two renewals. A maximum of 10 books may be checked out at one time. Videos circulate for one week with no renewals. A maximum of 5 videos may be checked out at one time.  Media equipment may circulate to RISE faculty only.

The following services are not available to RISE students: Interlibrary loan, test borrowing, media borrowing, off-campus access to EBooks and databases. EBooks and database use is resctricted to current students (undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral), faculty, staff, and Sisters due to licensing agreements.

  • Computer Use
  • Access to Regina Library’s computers is available in the Reference Room. Ask Reference Staff for a temporary login to a non-printing guest account. RISE students do not have remote access to library subscription databases or wireless access in the library.



    Rivier Sodexo Staff Library Use Policy

    Borrowing

    Currently employed Rivier Sodexho staff register at the library circulation desk and complete a Computer Use Policy form.  Library staff will verify employment with Sodexo management.  Upon confirmation, Sodexo staff have the following privileges.

    Books: Maximum of 5 books circulate for 30 days with up to 2 renewals on books that do not have an existing hold.
    Videos: Maximum of 2 videos circulate for 1 week -- no renewals.
    The following services are not available to Sodexo borrowers: Interlibrary loan, test borrowing, media borrowing, placing a hold on library materials.

    Computer Use

    Access to Regina Library’s computers is available in the Reference Room after signing the Computer Use Policy.  Ask Reference Staff for a temporary login to a non-printing guest account. Sodexo staff do not have remote access to library subscription databases or wireless access in the library.

    Overdue fines and replacement costs are the responsibility of the borrower.
