On behalf of the Office of Information Technology, welcome to Rivier University! We stand ready to serve your technology needs and do our part to make your academic experience enjoyable and rewarding.
Some of the services we provide include:
- General computing labs with a wide variety of software applications and high speed access to the Internet
- Network connections in each residence hall room that provide access to the campus network as well as the Internet. Additionally, each dormitory has access to wireless networking.
- Private drive space on a university server that allows you to store files and then access them from anywhere on campus
- Free e-mail service that can be accessed through the Web from anywhere in the world
Access to all IT services is available through IT Support located at the Academic Computing Center in Sylvia Trottier Hall (Room 106). Students are encouraged to call the IT Support help line with any computing questions at (603) 897-8469 or send an e-mail to ITSupport@rivier.edu.
Students attending Orientation will be asked to read and sign a Computer Use Policy form (PDF). This form is necessary to establish a computer user account. Instructions on how to change your password and access Rivier University e-mail will be included in your Orientation packet. Your account will be ready to use at Orientation.
For other students, if you are unable to come to Sylvia Trottier Hall, you can request a computer account and complete the Computer Use Policy form on-line. Click on the Online Request icon at the top, right hand side of this page and follow the instructions.
If you will be living in the residence halls, the IT Support has instructions available so you can configure your system for access to the network and the Internet. These instructions are for computer systems with a network card already installed. They can be found by going to the Rivier University website, under Directory select Information Technology, Configuring Your Network Card. It's important to select the correct operating system. You may make an appointment to purchase a network card, if needed, and have it installed in your computer.
In the 21st century, it goes almost without saying that technology is an important part of the teaching and learning environment. The Office of Information Technology takes pride in providing you services that will enhance your ability to excel academically. Please do not hesitate to contact us for your technology needs.
