Discretionary Funds

Discretionary funds are deposits of your money to your ID card account, this will allow you to purchase products or pay for all available services except printing fees.

Printing Funds

The Printing funds are strictly for printing fees, all fees are deducted from the account as printed. All student printing is monitored by a system that allows the student to accept the charges before printing.

IT Department Printing Allowance

The IT department allocates each student a $25 allowance per semester. When a student prints, a popup software “Lamess” will show a total balance of the allowance and any personal printing funds. The system is designed to use all the allowance funds first then use personal print funds.

*The IT printing allowance is not included in tuition and is subject to change as Rivier expands the ID card system.

**The Printing allowance will be reset every semester.

Depositing and Managing Your Account.

UPDATE 6-11-13 - Please use your Rivier computer user name and password to access an ID card account.

Faculty, staff, and students can manage their account online at https://myrivcard.rivier.edu/oneweb/. Faculty, staff, and students can track all changes, add funds, and watch your account history including meal plan usage.

Online deposits to the discretionary or printing funds can be done by bank or credit cards with a minimum of $10 per transaction, or by visiting the business office in Adrianne Hall.

*Credit card deposits are set minimum transaction of $10 and a maximum of $1000.

**Discretionary and printing are not attached. The system will not pull money from Discretionary for printing needs and you can't move funds online at this time.

Acquiring an ID Card

Prior to the beginning of classes all new students must obtain a valid ID card. All cards are issued by the Department of Public Safety and Security Office, located at the Dion Center, main floor. An ID can be obtained from 9:00 A.M. to 7:30 P.M. from Monday to Thursday and 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Friday during the school year.

Lost or Stolen Cards

Lost or stolen ID cards should be reported to the Department of Public Safety and Security Office immediately; replacements will be issued and a replacement charge will be assessed if deemed appropriate. Falsifying or in any way altering an ID card is considered a serious infraction of College policy. A student can also mark his or her card as lost online; this action will render the ID card unusable. Duplicate ID cards are not permitted and should be handed into Public Safety for disposal.

PLEASE DO NOT:

  • Bend, scratch, or disfigure the card.
  • Expose card to high temperatures, such as direct sunlight or dryers.
  • Place on top of embossed card in your wallet or purse; the magnetic stripe will be damaged.
  • Punch a hole in the card.
  • Use your card as an ice scraper or pry open objects with it.
  • Lend out or discard an active card.
