Run Older Programs in Vista

If a computer program was designed for Windows XP, then it should run on Vista.

Some older programs might not run on Vista. Before you give up, try to run the program in compatibility mode.

Right click on the program's shortcut icon
Click Properties, usually found at the bottom of the list

Click Compatibility tab
Check box for Run this program in compatibility mode
Select the version of Windows from the drop-down list.
