Publish a Presentation to Word

PowerPoint can print handouts or even individual slides, but PowerPoint just prints a hard copy of the slides. To format handouts, send the presentation to Word, which offers more flexibility. Once your content is in Word, you can apply formatting and printing options that aren’t available to you in PowerPoint.

To create handouts that are more elaborate than what you can make in Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007, print your handouts from Microsoft Office Word 2007.

Open the PowerPoint file
Click Office Button / Select Publish

Creating handouts in Word

Click Create Handouts in MS Word

Select the page layout

Select one of the following
Paste ... the content will remain static or unchanged
Paste Link ... any updates to the PowerPoint presentation will automatically be changed in the Word Document

If Paste Link is selected, each time you open the Word document a window displays with the following information: Accept or Reject updates

If the Paste Link is selected, save the original Word Document in the same folder that the PowerPoint presentation is located. It is so much easier to make sure the linked data will be updated.

Once the document open in Word, just edit as needed.
