.opd, .ods, .odt Formats

Some of the students might be using the OpenOffice Program, a free download available on the web. It is totally compatible with Microsoft Office programs if the student saves in the correct Microsoft format.

The default formats for the OpenOffice Program are:

    .odp    Presentation

    .ods    Spreadsheet

    .odt    Text

These default formats will not open in Microsoft Programs.

Return the file to the student with instructions on how to save to MS Office formats.

Save as type: Click the down arrow at the end of the text box
Select Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP (2003) or other MS Office formats.

The documents saved in MS Office will automatically open in any version.
