Show/Hide the Ruler

Sample One:

The ruler helps to visualize how an e-mail displays. Some people type to the end of the line; others like a tighter control over the text.

Sample Two:

The ruler helps to visualize how an e-mail displays.
Some people type to the end of the line;
others like a tighter control over the text.

The ruler can be useful if you use tight formatting as seen in Sample Two.

The ruler displays when the e-mail is created / forwarded / replied to.
It does not display when you open the Outlook program.

To show or hide the ruler in Outlook messages.

Open Outlook program
Click New E-mail or Forward or Reply

Click the Icon at the end of the right-hand scrolling bar.

Toggle this icon to show or hide the ruler.
