Odd Spacing in Word Document

I used a different computer to write an article and saved it to a USB flash drive. When I opened the document on my own computer, there were all kinds of odd spacing. How can I get rid of these spaces.

If you used a different computer, the default settings could be different.

Reload the document to your personal computer and check these two areas:

How is the document aligned?

If you have full justification there will be odd spacing between the words to stretch out the text from the start of a line to the end of a line. Check the document alignment.

this is full justification
Change to left alignment and the spaces should disappear.

Check your paragraph settings

Go to Home tab / Paragraph group
Click the blue arrow at the end of the group

The following pop-up screen displays

Make sure the spacing is set to zero / OK to save the settings.
