Managing Spaces after a Period

In desktop publishing, the rule of thumb if one space after a period. Two spaces were used exclusively in the age of the typewriter.
If you receive a document that has two spaces following the period and you want to delete one of the spaces try the following:

Open the document and place the cursor at the very beginning of the document
Go to Home tab / Editing Group
Select Replace

A dialog box will open

In the Find What box, enter a period followed by two spaces
In the Replace With box, enter a period follow by one space
Click on Replace All

Double check your document to make sure the spacing is accurate.
